Note: If you have light fixtures or a ceiling fan that you're worried about hitting against the bed when opened, you can use the form on the Ceiling Clearance page to calculate the swing arc of any of our beds.
*Accommodates any standard U.S. mattress sizes up to 13" thick and under 110 lbs, however we recommend keeping the thickness under 11" so the headboard can sit at an angle to minimize the gap between the wall and mattress. Mattresses not included, see our Mattresses page to find a mattress from BredaBeds, or use your own.
Baseboard notch
A Murphy bed has to sit flat against the wall, so we notch the bottom back edge of the cabinet to fit over your baseboard (also called skirting or base molding).
Measure your baseboard's height and depth, including any shoe molding or quarter round, then choose a notch at least that tall and deep.
Very Nice Stuff!
We purchased 3 units total and put them together on a single wall - two beds with hutch on one side and a single hutch in the center. Went together great. No issues with any of the CNC machine, edge banding or fit. It was a good value to us and we’re very happy.
