Choose the collection, size, orientation and color, then add hutches with shelves, drawers, doors or wardrobe space to suit how you'll use the room.
Two rooms in one
Fold the bed away and a guest room becomes an office, a gym or a playroom. Closed, it looks like finished cabinetry rather than a bed.
Built to last
Industrial-core cabinets, a powder-coated steel frame and a heavy-duty spring mechanism balanced to your mattress, so the bed opens and closes with little effort.
Precision-made in Idaho
We cut and bore every part on computerized equipment in our own factory, so panels line up precisely and the bed goes together cleanly at home.
*
Our beds allow up to a 13" mattress; we recommend 11" or less so the headboard can sit at an angle and minimize the gap between the wall and the mattress. The mattress should weigh no more than 110 lbs.
†
Horizontal beds are not available in King. The Urban Stack Bunk Bed
is available in Twin and Twin-XL only.
Vertical or horizontal?
The Urban, Metropolitan and InLine collections come in vertical and horizontal models; Penthouse and Studio are vertical only. A horizontal bed sits sideways against the wall, so its cabinet is shorter and it swings through less space, which makes it a good fit for rooms with low ceilings. Have a ceiling fan or light fixture nearby? Check it with our ceiling clearance calculator.
Depth of unit
Unit depth is the measurement from the wall to the front of the bed.
Wardrobe rods
Wardrobe hutches come with rods, so you can hang clothes inside.
Door style
The door face is the front of the bed and gives each collection its character. Select "Door style" to see them side by side.
Door construction
Bed doors are industrial-core melamine (smooth or textured, depending on the color) or 3D laminate (RTF). Both wipe clean easily and resist scratches, chemicals and staining.
Melamine cabinet construction
We start with 3/4" industrial-core particleboard faced with a thermally fused melamine coating for a durable, hard surface. Industrial core is far stronger than the commercial core common in discount-store furniture.
Color selection
Each collection comes in a wide range of colors. Preview them on each product page, or request free color samples to see them in person.
Soft-close drawers
Add drawers to your hutches. Our full-extension, soft-close, ball-bearing drawer slides are the best in the industry, and every drawer unit comes with a pull-out night shelf.
Soft-close doors
Soft-close hinges give hutch doors a silent, smooth close, so they never slam shut.
Spring mechanism & steel frame
Every BredaBeds model uses our heavy-duty spring mechanism. We balance the tension to your bed size and mattress weight by adding or removing springs, so the bed opens and closes with minimal effort. The bed face attaches to a powder-coated steel frame and cross-strut assembly for rigid, lasting stability.
Bed sizes available
Vertical beds come in Twin, Twin-XL, Full, Queen and King. Horizontal beds come in Twin, Twin-XL, Full and Queen, and the Urban Stack Bunk Bed in Twin and Twin-XL.
Mattress thickness
Every model takes a standard mattress up to 13" thick, including any memory foam topper. We recommend 11" or less so the headboard can sit at an angle, which helps minimize the gap between the wall and the mattress.
What is a Murphy bed?
William Murphy applied for a bed patent in the early 1900s. He designed a bed that was hinged to fold up and down, to be hidden when not in use. In 1989, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ruled that the term "Murphy bed" had entered common usage, so it was no longer eligible for trademark protection. It is also known as a wall bed. Murphy beds are perfect when space is limited.
BredaBeds can be customized with a large selection of designs and can have attached hutches, drawers and closet space. We offer both horizontal and vertical configurations. Our beds are designed to be space-efficient.
