A vertical Murphy Bed takes the BredaBlock of its own size. A horizontal Murphy Bed always takes the King / Horizontal BredaBlock, whatever its size, because on a horizontal bed the gap runs along the long side of the mattress.

Why a BredaBlock
The finishing touch for your Murphy Bed
A Murphy Bed folds down from the wall, so it can't sit flush against it. Even with the headboard angled in, a gap of 4″ to 6″ remains between the wall and the head of the mattress: just wide enough for pillows to slip into, and for phones and books to disappear behind the bed.
The BredaBlock closes that gap. It's a fabric-covered wedge, cut to the length of your bed, that rests between the headboard and the mattress, so your pillows stay where you put them and the bed looks finished from wall to mattress.
When it's time to fold the bed away, lift the BredaBlock out. It takes seconds, and it stores easily nearby until the next night.

Horizontal Murphy Beds take the King / Horizontal BredaBlock whatever their size: the gap runs along the long side of the mattress, so it needs the longest length.
Baseboard notch
A Murphy bed has to sit flat against the wall, so we notch the bottom back edge of the cabinet to fit over your baseboard (also called skirting or base molding).
Measure your baseboard's height and depth, including any shoe molding or quarter round, then choose a notch at least that tall and deep.
Turned one bedroom into four rooms!
This bed set helped us convert a bedroom into an office and avoid spending $30,000 on a she-shed, or $75,000 to add a room to our home.
