Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 10, 2026
We build Murphy beds; your data is not our product. This policy explains what personal information Breda, Inc. (DBA BredaBeds) collects when you use bredabeds.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it.
It is written to be read. If anything here is unclear, or you want to know exactly what we hold about you, get in touch and a real person will answer.

The short version
The full detail is below, but here is the substance of it:
- We do not sell your personal information. We do use advertising cookies for remarketing, and you can opt out.
- We collect what we need to take your order, deliver it, support you afterwards, and keep the site working.
- Your card number never reaches our servers — our payment processor handles it directly.
- You can ask us what we hold, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
- Marketing email always has an unsubscribe link. Order and service emails are not marketing, so those keep coming.

This policy covers bredabeds.com and the email we send you. It does not cover other companies' websites, even when we link to them.
We sell and ship within the United States. We are not set up to serve customers in the EU or UK, and we do not target our site to them.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Order information — your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and what you ordered. We use your phone number to coordinate delivery and to reach you about your order; we do not send marketing texts.
- Payment information — handled by our payment processor through its secure form, including for orders we take over the phone. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with the card type and last four digits. We never see or store the full card number.
- Account information — if you create an account, your email address, password (stored hashed, never in readable form) and saved addresses.
- Messages — what you write to us through the contact form, live chat, email or over the phone, including anything you volunteer about your room or project.
- Requests — colour sample requests, quotes, and the measurements you enter into tools like our ceiling clearance calculator.
- Reviews — the rating, text and any photos you submit, plus the name you choose to display.
- Marketing preferences — whether you subscribed to our email list.
Information collected automatically
- Device and connection data — IP address, browser and operating system, and the pages you visit.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Cookies & tracking below.
- Advertising and analytics signals — the tags described under Cookies & tracking record the pages and products you look at.
- Error and performance data — when something breaks or a page loads slowly, our self-hosted monitoring records what happened so we can fix it.
Information from others
- Our payment processor confirms whether your payment was approved.
- Shipping carriers send us delivery status and scheduling updates.
- Our review platform passes on reviews you submit to it.
We do not ask for and do not want sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, health information or biometric data. Please do not send it to us — including in a chat or an order note.
How we use it
- To fulfil your order — build it, charge for it, ship it, and keep you updated.
- To support you — answer questions, handle warranty claims and returns, and send replacement parts.
- To run our business — accounting, sales tax, fraud prevention, and keeping records we are required to keep.
- To improve the site and our products — understanding which pages are confusing, which options people pick, and what breaks.
- To ask for a review after your order arrives.
- To market to you, if you have opted in — new products, promotions and design ideas. You can stop this at any time.
- To advertise to you on other sites — remarketing through Google, Microsoft and Pinterest. You can opt out; see Cookies & tracking.
- To keep the site secure — blocking bots, abuse and fraudulent orders.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
Cookies & tracking
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We use them for four things:
Strictly necessary
Keeping you signed in, remembering your cart, and protecting forms from bots. The site cannot work without these.
Preferences
Remembering choices you have made, such as your accessibility settings.
Performance
Our own monitoring of slow or erroring pages, and Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement; typed text is masked).
Advertising
Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and Pinterest tags, loaded through Google Tag Manager, so we can show you our ads on other sites after you have visited (remarketing) and measure whether an ad led to a purchase.
Under California and some other state privacy laws, letting an advertising partner set a cookie counts as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising — even though no money changes hands and we never hand over your name, email or order. We do not operate an advertising network of our own. Some service providers (Google reCAPTCHA, Crisp live chat, Yotpo reviews) also set their own cookies to do their job.
Opting out of advertising cookies
- Google: Ads Settings
- Microsoft: ad settings
- Pinterest: privacy settings
- Industry-wide: DAA WebChoices and the NAI opt-out
- Or block third-party cookies in your browser — checkout and sign-in still work.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break checkout and sign-in.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control browser signals. Use the opt-outs above instead; they take effect immediately in that browser.
Who we share it with
We share personal information with the companies that help us run the store, and only what each one needs to do its job. Each is bound by its own terms to use the information only to provide its service to us.
| Who | What for | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Braintree & PayPal | Payment processing | Card or PayPal details, billing address, order amount. Card numbers go straight to the processor — they never touch our servers. |
| TaxJar | Sales tax calculation | Shipping address and order contents, so we charge the right tax. |
| Yotpo | Product reviews | Your name, email and order details, so we can invite you to review what you bought and publish your review. |
| Crisp | Live chat | Whatever you type into the chat window, plus the page you were on. |
| Mailgun | Sending email | Your email address and the contents of order and service emails we send you. |
| Cloudflare | Site delivery & security | Your IP address and request details, to serve pages quickly and block attacks. |
| Google Ads & Google Tag Manager | Advertising & measurement | A cookie identifier, the pages and products you viewed and whether you bought — so we can show you our ads on other sites after you visit (remarketing) and count purchases that came from an ad. Not your name, email or address. |
| Microsoft Advertising & Clarity | Advertising, measurement & site usability | The same advertising signals as Google, for ads on Bing. Clarity also records how pages are used — clicks, scrolling, mouse movement — with typed text masked, so we can see where the site is confusing. |
| Advertising & measurement | A cookie identifier and the products you viewed or bought, for ads on Pinterest. | |
| Google reCAPTCHA | Bot protection on forms | Device and interaction signals Google uses to tell people from bots. Used on our contact, review and newsletter forms. |
| Google Maps | Showing our location | Standard request data when a map loads. |
| EqualWeb | Accessibility toolbar | The accessibility preferences you set, so they persist as you browse. |
| Shipping carriers | Delivering your order | Your name, delivery address and phone number, so the carrier can schedule and complete delivery. |
We will also disclose information when we genuinely have to:
- to comply with the law, a subpoena or a lawful government request;
- to enforce our Terms of Service or protect our rights;
- to prevent fraud or protect someone's safety;
- to a buyer or successor if the business is sold or reorganised — this policy would continue to apply to information transferred that way.
Selling your data
We do not sell your personal information. We do share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as that term is used in California and other state privacy laws — the advertising cookies described above — and we have done so in the past twelve months. What is shared is a cookie identifier and your browsing on our site, never your name, email or order details. You can opt out under Cookies & tracking. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Your choices & rights
Everyone
- Unsubscribe from marketing email using the link at the bottom of any marketing message, or by asking us. We process unsubscribes within 10 business days.
- Update your details in your account, or ask us to correct them.
- Ask us what we hold about you and request a copy.
- Ask us to delete it, subject to records we are legally required to keep.
If your state gives you additional rights
Several states — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon and Montana — give residents specific privacy rights. Depending on where you live, those can include the right to know what we collect and why, to get a copy in a portable format, to correct it, to delete it, to opt out of sale (we do not sell) or of targeted advertising (see Cookies & tracking), and to appeal if we turn a request down.
We extend these rights to every customer, wherever you live. It is simpler than checking addresses, and it is how we would want to be treated.
How to make a request
Email [email protected] with "Privacy Request" in the subject line, call us at 1-855-466-4781, or use our contact form.
- We will confirm we received your request and respond within 45 days. If we need longer, we will tell you why and take at most another 45 days.
- We need to verify who you are before handing over personal information — usually by matching details against an existing order.
- An authorised agent may act for you with written permission.
- Making a request costs nothing and we will not treat you differently for it. No worse price, no worse service.
- If we decline, we will explain why, and you may ask us to reconsider by replying to that decision.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as it is useful or required:
- Order records — for as long as our tax and accounting obligations require, and long enough to honour warranty claims. Our mechanical hardware warranty runs ten years, so order records outlive most other data.
- Account details — until you ask us to close the account.
- Support conversations — long enough to resolve the issue and handle any follow-up.
- Marketing contacts — until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a minimal suppression record so we do not email you again by accident.
- Error, performance and usability logs — up to 12 months, then deleted automatically.
How we protect it
The whole site is served over encrypted HTTPS. Card details go directly to our payment processor, so a breach of our systems could not expose them. Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form. Access to customer data is limited to staff who need it, and we keep our platform patched and monitored. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as Idaho law and your state\'s law require.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. Please use a strong, unique password, and tell us straight away if you think something is wrong with your account.
Children's privacy
Our site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when what we do changes — a new payment option, a new tool, a change in the law. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we handle information we already hold about you, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you directly rather than quietly editing the page.
